Online Psychology Degrees

What will I learn in a psychology degree or training program?

Psychology is best understood as the study of the human mind so a degree or training program in psychology is trying to teach you how to understand your fellow humans. That's the aim of it anyway and you'll be amazed at how much can indeed be explained this way. There are different schools of thought, of course, and a degree or training program will introduce you to them all. Some of them disagree with each other which isn't all that surprising when you think about it: we're amazingly complex creatures and it would be odd if we already had all of the right answers. It's exactly this that makes the subject so interesting, of course.

What will a psychology degree or training program qualify me to do?

Knowing a little about human psychology is hugely useful in almost every part of life, whatever your future career. Certainly, a degree or training program can help you to be a better manager, can open those little windows into other people's minds so that you can see how they tick. The most obvious use for you of one of these degrees or training programs is of course to become a psychologist. They don't all work directly with patients: many are involved in industrial research for example, working out how to make companies and businesses work better by working with human minds, rather than against them. The average salary for psychologists is about $55,000.
