Online Fire Protection Degrees

Fire protection specialists use the latest technology to help protect lives, buildings and businesses from the catastrophic effects of fire.  This requires a lot of expertise which is reflected in the comprehensive training offered by a fire protection degree program.

Fire protection degree program

Your training program will cover topics such as

•    Fire protection fundamentals - the theory, history, and laws of fire protection.
•    Fire equipment and fire fighting techniques
•    Strategy and tactics of fire protection

Your instructors should be able to offer a wealth of real-life experience, and you may be able to visit locations with leading-edge fire protection facilities as part of your degree program.

Fire protection job outlook and salaries

Your fire protection training will create job opportunities in many kinds of organization. As well as working in direct fire protection you might work in insurance investigations, schools and colleges, sales, or fire protection design, to cite just a few examples.   There is always a shortage of well-trained fire protection graduates, so your job outlook will amply reward your college degree. You can also look forward to good financial rewards.

A survey conducted by The Society of Fire Protection Engineers in 2005 found the following salary data for 2004.

•    Median earnings for fire protection engineers were $92,000.
•    A fire protection engineer with up to two year’s of work experience would see median earnings of $56,000.  The equivalent figure with twenty-four and upwards years was $110,000.
•    Around 42% of the survey engineers earned over $100,000. Only 5% had median salaries under $50,000
