Graduates will be eligible to take the Certified Coding Associate (CCA) Exam administered by the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) to earn CCA (entry-level coder) credentials. Fisher College's Medical Coding Certificate Program requires a commitment to quality work and consistent completion of assignments. Of note, students need to earn a grade of "C" or better in all core courses within the curriculum, including Essentials of Anatomy & Physiology, Study of Disease, Medical Terminology, and Basic and Advanced ICD-9-CM and CPT-4 Coding. Students will need to retake any of these courses for which they earn less than a C. Also, successful completion of an 30-hour professional practice coding internship is required to graduate.
