There are two different education certification programs offered by Post University. The Early Childhood Education 21-credit certificate program provides students with the professional training comparable to fulfilling the educational requirements of the Child Development Associate Credential. Students in this program will receive training in the basic principles of early childhood for entry level teaching positions in early care and education centers, nursery schools, Head Start programs, hospital settings and community facilities.

Another education certification is in Administration of early childhood education programs. This program is focused on the developmental needs of young children as well as the business aspects of organizing and managing early childhood programs.

Curriculum:
Our certificate program in Early Childhood Education provides students with the professional training necessary to fulfill the educational requirements of the Child Development Associate Credential. This certificate can be used as a stepping-stone to the Associate and ultimately a baccalaureate degree in a number of different disciplines including psychology or Business Administration with a concentration in early care and education.

The program includes five courses that provide for the basic understanding of child development, creative activities, children's literature and fundamentals of psychology.

Our certificate program in Administration of Early Childhood Education is for those individuals who are interested in the management of programs for young children. This program can also be viewed as first step towards an Associate in Science and, ultimately, a bachelor's degree. This certificate includes two education-related courses as well as business courses in computers, marketing and administration.

Early Childhood Education Certificate

Licensing Program for Educators - Early Childhood Education

Adult students who have already earned an accredited bachelor's degree may qualify for admission to the Early Childhood Education Licensing program. The Early Childhood Education Licensing program, with classes typically scheduled in the evening and on weekends, can be completed in as little as 20 months of study, including a minimum of 16 weeks of student teaching.

The Early Childhood Education Licensing program can prepare students to teach preschool through third grade in Colorado. In addition to a teaching license, students in this program may earn up to 9 credits towards a Master of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction (MACI)

Coursework may be transferred from a completed bachelor's degree to meet general education, liberal arts and professional core requirements in accordance with CAGS residency requirements..
