Earning a Degree in Forensic Accounting

A typical program will cover issues of fraud, embezzlement and bribery. Many individuals choose to study further in order to qualify for certification, such as the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation.
Job Prospects
The U.S. Department of Labor predicts faster than average employment growth for accountants, in particular due to increasing tax regulations and financial laws. The growing awareness of financial crimes and recent corporate scandals has created further demand for those with training in forensic accounting. Growing use of computer technology further fuels this demand. Average earnings for accountants and auditors were $50,770 in May 2004, though top positions commanded salaries of more than $88,000. Starting out might first require taking a junior position, however with a degree or training in forensic accounting you can expect to face better job prospects, particularly in larger companies.
