Business and Health Care in One Degree

The health care industry is hot, but you want to earn your business major online.  There are many exciting areas to pursue in the business world, and Capella University had found a way to parlay these two markets in to one degree.  Capella University recently announced that it will be adding a new program in their Bachelor of Science in Business online degree program, with a Health Care Management specialization.

“Aspiring health care administrators must often choose between a business degree and a health care degree,” said Feranda Williamson, EdD, dean of Capella’s School of Undergraduate Studies. “This offering combines the best of both disciplines, and leverages Capella’s expertise in both areas of study.” Capella offers more than a dozen graduate and undergraduate specializations in health care and related fields, along with more than 30 business-related specializations.

“Our Health Care Management students will also benefit from Capella’s leading edge approach to public service education, which brings together faculty and students from health care, public administration, and public safety,” said Dr. Williamson. “Health care administrators must often work with government officials and public safety professionals to address communitywide health and safety challenges. Our students will have opportunities to learn and practice interprofessional collaboration skills that will prepare them to work more effectively across departmental, functional, and jurisdictional lines.”

This business degree online program will give students a foundation in business as well as a curriculum for health care management.  Student in this program will be able to work in the field of heath care, while holding a degree in business.
