Jobs in Healthcare are Still in Demand

There is continuing demand for various kinds of healthcare workers.  Students who earn their medical degree may have an easier time finding a job after graduation, even with the downturn in the economy.

Graduates leaving college with training in health-related fields may have an easier time finding jobs than other graduates, state and local officials say.

A firm associated with The California Wellness Foundation sampled about a dozen community colleges in the Central Valley, Los Angeles and San Jose regions over the past few weeks.

Those discussions supplemented broader, ongoing talks with colleges throughout the year that offered feedback on job prospects for graduates in allied health occupations such as dental assistants, X-ray technicians and nursing assistants.

At City College, for example, about 80% of the students graduating from the registered nursing program this year already have jobs in the health field. The spring 2009 class included 125 students who have completed an associate’s degree in nursing.

Earning a medical degree online can give you many options for employment nationwide.  You can earn an associates degree, or bachelors degree and begin an exciting career in healthcare.
