Founded in 1851, the University of Minnesota is comprised of four campuses throughout the state of Minnesota: Twin Cities, Duluth, Morris, and Crookston. It is the only research university in the state. Online courses at the University of Minnesota are offered through the Crookston campus. University of Minnesota awards Bachelor’s Degrees in Business, Manufacturing Management, and Applied Health through fully-online programs.
While only these three degrees are the only offered in a fully-online format, University of Minnesota allows students to select from a wide variety of online courses. Non-degree seeking students may enroll in these online courses for career development purposes or with the intention of transferring the credits earned to their current school. Students wishing to enroll as a non-degree seeking student need to fill out a special application. Each semester, University of Minnesota offers more than 40 online courses in fields such as English Composition and Literature, Human Resources, Accounting, Marketing, and Psychology.
The online Bachelor of Applied Science degree at University of Minnesota is directed toward current healthcare professionals who are advancing in their current position and need additional coursework for state licensing eligibility. The Bachelor of Manufacturing Management degree is designed for individuals who currently hold an associate’s degree in their field and want to continue their education in order to pursue promotions in their field. Finally, their Bachelor of Business degree is designed for all students who wish to pursue a career in business post-graduation. This program had no prerequisite postsecondary education requirements.
Students in University of Minnesota’s online programs are eligible for financial aid in the forms of grants, loans, and scholarships. Online students have access to many of the same resources as traditional students, including an online bookstore and library. Online courses are taught by the same high-quality faculty members as classroom courses. The online programs at the University of Minnesota at Crookston are accredited by the Higher Learning Commission.
