New Online Engineering Degree at the University of Buffalo

Administrators at the University of Buffalo recently announced that they have just completed designing their first online master’s degree program. The online master’s in engineering program in production management will admit its first students in the fall of 2007. According to the UB Reporter:

“Our MEng degree program will now be available entirely via the distance learning mode,” said Carl Chang, adjunct professor of industrial and systems engineering and an academic advisor in the MEng program. “There are many young people who want to pursue advanced studies, but cannot enroll in the university because of work, geography and family circumstances. I am certain there will be a large demand for this program.”

This online program will require 30 credit hours in management and engineering that includes a senior project that is worth 6 credit hours. The lectures for this program will be recorded and available to students through a variety of formats, including online, through CD-ROM, and by download.
