The Boston University Online Graduate Certificate in Asian Religions and Healing is designed to provide students and professionals in the fields of religion and medicine with an advanced understanding of the roots and applications of Asian healing traditions. This certificate program consists of four online courses that explore Health and Wholeness in Asian Religions, Body Cultivation, Meditation, and Death and Afterlife Issues.
Students who complete this online certificate program will gain a comprehensive knowledge of eastern concepts of holistic health and healing. Students will learn the cultural and historical background behind practices like yoga and meditation, as well as the physiological effects of these practices. Ultimately, the goals of this program are both personal and professional: a renewed mindfulness and an increase in the potential for knowledge and communication between medical, religious, and spiritual groups.
Each online course features online lectures, video clips, audio instructions, and required readings from textbooks. All four courses are taught by Professor Livia Kohn, a professor of Asian religions for over twenty years. Courses integrate academic knowledge with practical experience and can be taken either individually or as a series to earn a Graduate Certificate in Asian Relations and Healing.
