Baker College announces increase in student enrollment

The Huron Daily Tribune Baker College of Cass City officials announced a 19 percent increase in student enrollment for spring quarter 2006 over spring quarter 2005. New student enrollment increased by 47.8 percent over the same period last year. A total of 350 students are attending Baker College of Cass City this spring, a satellite campus of Baker College of Flint. "As a right-to-try college, Baker College provides a very accessible entry point for students who might not otherwise have the opportunity to attend college, but require additional education to bolster employment skills," said Julianne T. Princinsky, Ed.D., Baker College of Flint president. "We're pleased that our efforts to provide specialized, high demand programs continue to attract students." System-wide, Baker College posted an overall enrollment increase of 4.6 percent for spring quarter 2006 over spring quarter 2005. These numbers do not reflect enrollment numbers for Baker College Online or Baker Center for Graduate Studies, as the final enrollment results are still in progress. The largest private college in Michigan, Baker College is accredited by The Higher Learning Commission and is a member of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. It is a non-profit higher education institution, serving more than 34,000 students on 12 campuses and in four satellite locations. Baker grants certificates and associate's, bachelor's and master's degrees in business, health sciences, education and human services, and various technical fields. As a career college, the Baker College system is proud to have achieved a graduate employment rate of 99 percent.
