Online Associates Degree in Business Administration

If you're looking into two-year associate degrees in business administration, you can expect to study business basics, such as accounting, finance, marketing, management and economics. Other topics include introduction to business law, human resource management and critical thinking. Many programs have requirements in humanities, communications, math and science, or English composition. As more businesses go online or computerize operations, knowledge of information technology such as computers and associated business software programs is increasingly important.

Associate degrees in business administration

An associate degree can lead directly to employment or can provide the basic business fundamentals you need to transition to a bachelor's degree. Programs include Bachelor of Business Administration or bachelor's degrees in business administration with concentrations in accounting, administration, management, marketing, criminal justice administration, operations, project management, e-business, health systems and international business.

Students can continue on for a master's degree, such as the ever popular Master of Business Administration, although other business administration degrees and concentrations are available. You can also earn a doctoral degree; a Doctor of Business Administration is primarily for applied research and a Ph.D. in Business Administration is oriented toward theoretical research.

Some business administration occupations are not expected to experience much growth; others will have average growth of 10-13 percent between 2008 and 2018, according to the BLS.
